Accion Diferida para los estudiantes
El día 15 de junio de 2012, la Secretaría de Homeland Security anunció que ciertas personas que vinieron a los estados unidos como niños puedan solicitar un permiso temporal de trabajo bajo de un programa nueva que se llama acción diferida.
La acción diferida le permite vivir y trabajar en los estados unidos. Al momento de estar aprobado, recibirá un permiso de trabajo, que es válido por dos años y es renovable.
Para ser elegible, hay que:

Tener por lo menos 15 años de edad

Haber llegado a los estados unidos antes de cumplir 16 años

Haber vivido continuamente en los EEUU desde el 1 de enero, 2010

Haber estado presente en los estados unidos el día 15 de junio de 2012
-
Actualmente estar inscrito en la escuela, haberse graduado u obtenido un GED o diploma de la escuela secundaria,
-
No haber sido condenado por un felonía ni un delito menor “significativo” o tres delitos menores.

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO APPLY FOR DEFERRED ACTION?
A: Everyone must pay a government a fee of $465. This fee can only be waived in very extreme circumstances. Our firm can process your Deferred Action case for you for a flat rate of $500. This fee does not include translation of any documents that are not in English, such as your birth certificate. Translation fees are $50 per page.
Q: WHAT IF I COMMITTED A JUVENILE CRIME?
A: Depending on the type of crime you may be approved for Deferred Action, but it is best to speak to an attorney before filing any paperwork.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY APPROVAL?
A: Current processing times are 6-10 months. Applicants who have no criminal history usually receive an approval within 90 days.
Q: WHAT ID CAN I USE TO GET INTO MY BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT?
A: You can use any photo ID. A student ID, or even an expired license or matricula will work, so long as your photo is on the ID.
Q: CAN I HAVE AN ITIN NUMBER AND A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER?
A: No. You must contact the IRS to transfer your ITIN information to your new Social Security Number. Our firm can help you do this.
Q: DO I NEED TO REGISTER FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE?
A: All males ages 18 to 24 must register for selective service ("the draft"), even if you have no immigration status or do not have Deferred Action yet. Failing to register is a felony. You can register by visiting: www.sss.gov
Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SPEAK TO AN ATTORNEY?
A: We charge an intial consultation fee of $60.
Q: CAN I GET A DRIVER'S LICENSE AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD?
A: Yes! After getting your work permit, you can apply for a Social Security Card. Then, with your two cards, you can apply for a driver's license!
